Hello, whoever you are!

Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit my page. I thought I’d share a little bit about myself to make what you’re reading more personal, and to give you a peek into my life.

I’m 24, I’m a girly-girl and I’m a Valentine’s baby. Valentine’s day has always been my favourite day of the year, not because it’s my birthday, but because I consider myself a hopeless romantic who believes that chivalry is not dead and that everyone has a soulmate who is endlessly searching for their partner. I also love getting to share my birthday with all the lovebirds out there.

I believe I have found my own soulmate, because my boyfriend compliments every aspect of my life. I am complete without him, as is he without me, but together it feels as though we have something more than what reality can explain. With him I partake in many adventures, and I get to travel the world. He is a professional hockey player currently in Europe, which has given me a lot of insight into the challenges of long distance as well as new appreciation for when we are together.

I also have a few other loves and passions- my dog, a 7 year old shih-tzu/poodle, promoting mental health, anything beauty or fashion related, and writing. I’ve always really enjoyed writing; as a child I thought I would grow up to become a novelist. Although I became a psychiatric nurse instead, I decided to try blogging as my outlet of self-care, and whether or not people decide to follow me, I’m happy to be writing and exploring other people’s thoughts.

I’m a lover of empowering each other, of pursuing your dreams or goals regardless of how much support you receive, of drinking lots and lots of water, and of always finding a good sale. I love my great group of friends, my family, the buskers on street corners who just want to share their passion and random acts of kindness. I love meeting people I’ve seen on instagram only to find out they are beautiful souls beyond their beautiful photos. I like to be the person who takes candid photos of my friends or suggests brunch. I like being a good girlfriend and buying the things you didn’t think that I remembered and saving it for your birthday. I’m one of those people who has a million ideas or inventions in my mind but I don’t know what to do with them.

My friends and boyfriend laugh at me for constantly being fashionably late and for rambling on and on when I tell a story, because I hate to leave out the littlest detail. My mom laughs at me for constantly having an overflowing closet. I think my dog laughs at me for talking to him when we go for walks. I laugh at myself for everything. I think that’s important.

I believe in God, yet I believe in fate. I believe in horoscopes, yet I believe in individuality. I believe in the good of people no matter what they may do or have done. I believe people can change. I believe in the concept of feminism, but I’m okay with my man opening my door for me or buying me dinner. I love being a woman.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of science in psychiatric nursing, and am working as a registered psychiatric nurse in the emergency room at a hospital just outside of my hometown. Oh, I also work in the community, as well as at the largest hospital in my city, because I just can’t quite figure out what I like best (because I love it all). I’m a bit of a homebody, and on any given day I’m counting down my next flight to see my babe. You can find me working whenever I’m not traveling, but traveling whenever I can take time off from working. I am a work in progress and I don’t know much about anything, but if you’d like to read about the few things I do know or at least what I think, then please join me as I continue growing my blog!

Thanks for listening,

KB xx
